An Ideal Magic Kingdom Tomorrowland Refurb

Many consider Tomorrowland to be the worst themed land in every Disneyland-style park. I whole heartedly agree with that statement. Don't get me wrong, there's fun to be had there, but the theming is far from great.  In this blog post I'll be going over what needs to be done with the land.

As we enter the land, we see this ugly restaurant that's closed most of the time except for the Wishes dessert party. You're looking at the Tomorrowland Terrace, my friends. What should happen to it in the ideal refurb? Demolish it and relocate the dessert party to the seating area nearby. What would replace it then? That leads me to the next area: Monsters Inc Laugh Floor and Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin. Both are rides based on Pixar films but feel a bit out of place. Seeing how Monsters Inc can easily be moved to Hollywood Studios where Jack Sparrow (the worst rated attraction on property) is and that there's also Toy Story Mania, these two would bite the bullet. Now for the replacement, and that would be a Tron lightcycle coaster, but a different layout than the one Shanghai will be getting seeing how the Speedbike coaster at DHS is rumored to have the exact same layout. In order to get maximum space, where the Tomorrowland Terrace and Buzz Lightyear meet and greet currently are, the building would expand in both length and height. To hide the show building from Main Street, more facades would be put up. As for the ride itself, the entrance would remain the same but with a Grid facade, and the gift shop where Monsters Inc currently is. The queue will extend over to the Buzz Lightyear meet and greet with the loading station over there as well. With the right amount of effort, this could be done.

Tell me this wouldn't be awesome.

As we exit the gift shop and back where we entered the land, we notice there's a new ride across the street. Yes my friends, Stitch's Great Escape would be biting the dust in this refurb. In it's place would be a simulator based off a WALL-E. The ride itself would be very similar to Despicable Me at Universal where it's a stadium of simulators. Since there's two theaters currently there, both would be used for maximum capacity. In each theater, one side of seats would be taken out to put the screen there. Of course, it would be 3D. The ride itself would last for about four minutes with riders going through the Axiom, the ship from the movie. This would actually be a Pixar brand that fits in Tomorrowland.

Reaching the Tomorrowland hub, Astro Orbitor, the Peoplemover, and Carousel of Progress would be remaining the same as they've always been.  Going over to Space Mountain, the ride would be getting the refurbishment it deserves. The refurbishment would last for at least a year as they demolish the entire track and replace it with the layout California, Tokyo, and Hong Kong have. This would be a welcome change I'm sure everyone would accept.

As we exit that ride, normally we see the Tomorrowland Speedway, but I'm too hungry right now to get to it's replacement, so let's go grab a bite at Dex's Diner from Star Wars. Replacing Cosmic Rays, the menu would remain largely the same while also getting Star Wars into the park.

I've saved the best for last, so lets get to it. The Tomorrowland Speedway would be closing in this refurb and replaced by a major E Ticket based off of Guardians of the Galaxy.

The ride's entrance would be facing the Tomorrowland Hub with the gift shop where the Speedway entrance currently is. The building would be themed to the Nova Corps HQ. The ride would be a shooter ride on an EMV like the Dick Tracy ride was supposed to be. In order to accommodate everyone, there would be a wild and tame version. If Disney wants Marvel in Florida, this is their only option, but it'd be a major success.
